Tanya Mullings
Tanya Mullings is a Multi award winning singer, songwriter Walk Of Fame Inductee, 6x Juno Award Nominee & a pioneer of Reggae Music in Canada she has been in the Entertainment industry for over 3 decades as a Performer, Artist Management, Promoter, Public Relations, & has been on Community Radio Co-Hosting CHRY 105.5FM Rebel Vibez.
In 2010 Tanya started hosting her very own radio show The Tanya Mullings Show on Atlanta’s internet Radio Station DaFlavaradio.com Thursday’s from 12pm- 3pm. That same year it also simulcast on internet stations in the UK, New York, The Gambia Africa, Boston, Worcester Massachusetts, Antigua, Florida, & Canada’s Fired Up Network’s 122 platforms worldwide first ever music show on a sports station.
In May 2020 Tanya also joined the Barnburner TV Network/H.E.R. Network/Fired Up Network for her very own TV Show “The Tanya Mullings Show” which airs Sunday’s 8pm – 9pm EST.
She started at the young age of 15 with the guidance of her late father, manager/producer/promoter Karl Mullings. Releasing 4 albums & singles she has worked with the best of the best in the business. Veteran artist, the late great Alton Ellis voiced her on her very first single. Taught by the greats, the late Jackie Mittoo, Jay Douglas, John Holt, Ken Booth, Cynthia Schloss, & Hopeton Lewis, all helped her honed her musical talent. Throughout her career Tanya has been produced by Bobby Digital Dixon, Jack Scorpio, Danny Browne, Dalton Browne, Eddie Bullen, Computer Paul Henton, Dubmatix, Morgan Heritage, Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor, Fab 5, Bernie Pitters, Robert “Dubwise” Browne, Devonte, Bobby Treasure, Paul Green, Andrew Thomas, Maurice Gregory & Dean Pond some of the top producers in the industry. Also collaborated with Papa San, General Degree, Morgan Heritage, Tanto Metro, Craigy T of T.O.K & Mega Banton.
Her Juno Nominated singles “ A Love Thang” & “Love & Affection” were featured in Trey Anthony’s TV Pilot “Kink In My Hair” feat Sheryl Lee Ralph Directed by Tonya Lee Williams.
She performed on Titans Of Toronto Reggae, Toronto Mayor John Tory proclaimed March 2nd, 2019 “Titans Of Reggae Day” a tribute to the foundation Reggae Artist in the city, She also performed on Reggae Sunsplash in Montego Bay Jamaica, Reggae Sumfest held at Chakka Cove in St. Anns Jamaica, Montreal International Reggae Festival in Canada, Calgary International Reggae Festival in Canada, Irie Jamboree Roy Wilkins Park Queens New York , Brixton Academy London England a tribute to the late great Jackie Mittoo, Madison Square Gardens New York City, and Hard Rock Live in Orlando FL, and has shared the stage with artist such as, Third World, Freddie Jackson, Dennis Brown, Beres Hammond, Alton Ellis, Freddie McGregor, Maxi Priest, UB40, Buju Banton, Beenie Man, Barrington Levy, The Sattalites, Elephant Man, Collie Buddz, Mr Vegas, Super Cat, Junior Reid, The Skatalites, Tarrus Riley, Main Ingredient, Celia Cruz, Morgan Heritage, Wayne Wonder, Richie Stephens, Yellowman, Cindy Breakspear, Byron Lee and the Dragonaires, Delroy Wilson, Leroy Sibbles, Ed Robinson, Ken Booth, John Holt, Sugar Minott, Frankie Paul, Nadine Sutherland, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Shaggy, Diana King and many more.
Tanya has won various industry awards including being inducted into the 2015 Brampton Arts Walk Of Fame, Top Single “Rescue Me”, Karl Mullings Memorial Award, Top Veteran Singer, Top International Reggae Artist, International Reggae and World Music Award, 14x Canadian Reggae Music Awards, 7x Caribbean Crucible Awards, 2x Reggae Music Achievement Awards, and for her last album “Music is My Life” she was awarded Best Reggae Album, Producer of the Year and Best Female Vocalist.
She was nominated 6 times for the prestigious Juno Awards and was presented with the Citizens Award for the Arts by the City of Brampton in Ontario.
